Just in case you missed it- which I doubt you have, DJ Khaled dropped his video for Wild Thoughts from his Grateful album which will be released in just a few days.

The video features vocals from Rihanna and Bryson Tiller and boast a substantial sample of the Carlos Santana beat from “Maria Maria.” The video and song was so monumental that it had Carlos Santana co-signing and giving it his stamp of approval with his exact words being:

“It speaks to the heart. DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson take that vibe and bring it to a new dimension with ‘Wild Thoughts,’ but the groove and essence of the song is still intact…” “It’s great to see my work being sampled by this new generation. Many thanks to DJ Khaled for introducing me, Santana and [producer] Jerry Wonda to a whole new generation of music lovers.”

I’m pretty sure watching the video erected nostalgia and brought your summer spirit animal out; seeing Rihanna strutting to the rhythm in her sheer top and watching Dj Khaled turning up in the crowd was just #LEGENDARY.

The song and video didn’t fall short of speaking to the ladies and emulated the emotions of the original song. I think this was a recovery for Bryson from his latest album. He didn’t hold back on vibes and vocals.

I commend DJ Khaled for actually coming up with this logical collaboration. The video, beat and artist choice gets a big A from me. I love, love, love it!

Not to mention how contemporary and radical the lyrics were- credits go out to “Party Next Door.”
